We thoroughly enjoyed our recent December trip to the Lake District with the Gold Plus girls from Leicester High School. 2 days walking in the hills, an evening climbing in Ambleside and lots of great company.
Congratulations to the first 12 students at Beauchamp College in Oadby, Leicester to do Gold. They’ve just completed their Gold DofE practice in the Peaks. They endured the tail end of a hurricane, lashing rain and poor visibility and showed remarkable spirit to pull through and complete their practice successfully. They were a pleasure to work with!
At the end of the summer we did a 2 day expedition in the Lake District with 6 adventurous ladies from the Lyddington Book Club.
Despite lashing rain and strong winds they achieved a challenging walk from Seathwaite, did their first wild camp by Styhead Tarn and summitted Glaramara before returning back to the start. We even managed to discuss some recent good books in our tents whilst protected from the pounding rain outside! The team were amazing and full credit to them for their determination.
It was lovely to see so many new faces on our FREE family walk in Rutland back in April.
Well done to all the walkers, especially all the children who did so well.
Earlier this year we spent a weekend with the Amin & Patel families enjoying some fantastic views and weather in Snowdonia. The plan was to summit Snowdon and the whole group made it up. Snow, ice and blustery conditions at the top made it challenging but the views were worth it! The following morning a very early walk around Cwm Idwal seeing Alphabet slab, Devil’s Kitchen and seeing what makes this SSSI site so remarkable finished the weekend off perfectly.
