Completing your Gold DofE Residential.
The DofE residential is completed as part of the Gold Award and should be an exciting opportunity, away from home and sharing in an activity with people you haven’t met before. Click here to find out more about the residential section.
Join us for a 5 day mountain biking adventure, with the opportunity to develop skills, have fun and make new friends.
Each day will involve learning and developing riding skills, exploring trails all over the Peak District or Shropshire and participating in bike maintenance workshops in the evenings. Groups will be a maximum of 8 in size, so plenty of 1:1 support. We want your DofE residential to be fun and challenging.
Accommodation will be in an outdoor centre, situated in the picturesque village of Hope in the Peak District or the small town of Church Stretton, adjacent to the 10 mile ridge of the Long Mynd, part of the Shropshire Hills. Sleeping arrangements will be in single sex dorms; you will need to bring your own bedding. All of our meals are freshly prepared every day and will be eaten together in a comfortable dining room. There is an activity room for evening workshops and spaces for relaxing. Bikes and helmets will be provided (unless you wish to bring your own) and there is room for wet and muddy kit.
Once we receive your booking request we will email you to confirm availability. The cost for the full 5 days is £350 plus VAT (£420) which includes all accommodation, food, equipment, and expert instruction and guidance. A deposit of £100 will be required upon booking with the remaining amount to be paid 14 days prior to the course. Nearer the time you will be sent full details about the course, a schedule of the week’s activities, a medical form to complete and a kit list.
We also a offer a FREE pick up and return to the local train station.
This is some of the team that may be looking after you during the week:
ANDY ROWLINSON: Andy is one of the company owners and leads expeditions all over the UK and worldwide. He is extremely experienced in working with young people and leading DofE expeditions, walking, mountaineering, cycling and climbing trips.
GRAEME CORLETT: Graeme leads on many courses for us, and as an ex-elite rider having trained in Italy, he’s pretty experienced on a bike! He’s also really encouraging and supportive and will make sure you get the most out of your week with us.
