Completing your Gold DofE Residential.
The DofE residential is completed as part of the Gold Award and should be an exciting opportunity, away from home and sharing in an activity with people you haven’t met before. Click here to find out more about the residential section.
Join us for a 5 day mountain biking adventure, with the opportunity to develop skills, have fun and make new friends.
Each day will involve learning and developing riding skills, exploring trails all over the Peak District or Shropshire and participating in bike maintenance workshops in the evenings. Groups will be a maximum of 10 in size, so plenty of 1:1 support. We want your DofE residential to be fun and challenging.
Accommodation will be in an outdoor centre, situated in the picturesque village of Hope in the Peak District or the small town of Church Stretton, adjacent to the 10 mile ridge of the Long Mynd, part of the Shropshire Hills. Sleeping arrangements will be in single sex dorms; you will need to bring your own bedding. All of our meals are freshly prepared every day and will be eaten together in a comfortable dining room. There is an activity room for evening workshops and spaces for relaxing. Bikes and helmets will be provided (unless you wish to bring your own) and there is room for wet and muddy kit.
During the evening there may be team challenges, games, presentations, talks by invited speakers and the opportunity for quiet time/reading/study.
All food is provided for you and cooked on-site. We aim to provide a well balanced menu with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as treats to keep you going. You will have breakfast, a packed-lunch, dinner & pudding with snacks for the ride. We recommend bringing a small amount of money as you may stop at one of the local cafes during your ride.
The cost which includes: 4 nights accommodation with full board, all equipment and instruction is £370 plus VAT = £444pp
Once we receive your booking request we will email you to confirm availability.
