The DofE residential is completed as part of the Gold Award and should be an exciting opportunity, away from home and sharing in an activity with people you haven’t met before. Click here to find out more about the residential section.
This residential is specifically designed for those in Years 12 and 13. You will get the opportunity to spend half your day revising any of your subjects and the other half outside doing fun outdoor activities. The idea is during the week you get plenty of study, fresh-air, sleep well, good food and make friends. We know that during your 6th form life can be very busy so we think this 5 day residential ticks every box and enables you to get lots done as well as have a great time.
This residential is based at Bell Heath in a beautiful area of North Worcestershire. Sleeping arrangements will be in single sex dorms, both with bedding provided. All outdoor equipment will be provided and there is a room for wet and muddy kit. There is a dedicated space for your revision sessions.
These will be supervised, quiet sessions that enable you to get some quality revision done over the week. You will be encouraged to create a plan for the week which you will follow to help you make the most of the time available. You will be working independently and need to bring all your own books and resources.
Every day you will also do a combination of outdoor activities in either a morning and afternoon session which may include archery, climbing wall, zip-wire, bushcraft and high-ropes. All equipment is provided for you and the aim is to just have fun and get a break from studying hard.
During the evening there may be team challenges, games, presentations, talks by invited speakers and the opportunity for quiet time/reading/study.
All food is provided for you and cooked on-site. We aim to provide a well balanced menu with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as treats to keep you going. You will have breakfast, lunch, dinner & pudding with mid-morning and afternoon snacks.
